Stella Long—
Stories of Today

"The events of my early life didn't seem special to me when they were happening. So it's more than gratifying that others seem able to learn from and be moved by them."
—Stella Long

Stella experiences her stories on an intensely personal level. She tells humorous stories of her early childhood, for example, that move into her being sent away to an orphanage at the age of ten, and continue with stories of her life at the orphanage.

At the age of seventeen she left the orphanage to be hospitalized with pulmonary tuberculosis for many years. She tells of how patients coped with the years of hospitalization, their hope, worry, and fear, when patients were dying all around them.

"At this stage of my life," Stella says, "I have no regrets for living the emotional hardships - for I have gained wisdom and perspective from those years. Therefore, I tell my healing stories to support people to find their own way to healing physically, emotionally and spiritually."

Each healing story ends with her singing a Choctaw healing song.

"Stella Long shows you the endurance of the human spirit and lifts her listeners through the hope that her stories convey.

I enjoy her telling and I enjoy watching others listen as she captivates her audience with her voice and with her heart.
